The Power of Kyudo
The arrows used in kyudo (Japanese archery) are very, Very sharp. There are ancient Japanese inscriptions depicting kyudo that date as far back as 280AD. kyudo could be much, much older than this.

What is the name of this documentary?
Toob – this is a clip from the Japanese “NHK” channel. I’m writing this from memory – but I think the programme is called “Beyond the human eye”. “NHK” is available on satellite tv.
Thanks alot!
This is pretty insane. Considering the draw weight of the yumi bows (they are not very hard to draw), this kind of power and penetration is outrageous. Thank you for uploading this.
I’ll try and put more Japanese stuff on youtube – but am wary of copywrite laws. .
The documentary has been played in the program called “Einstein’s eye” on NHK.
Yes NHK are repeating their best programmes. NHK is my favourite satelite channel!
This is very impressive, but when you consider the arrow is supposed to peirce armour, it isn’t that surprising.
Cool footage.
