Yeah, so no. Samurai would do this when executing prisoners as a way to practice technique. In truth Ninjas would rarely if ever draw or use a sword. Partly because the Ninja blades were of poor craftsmenship and regularly broke. And partly because Samurai were trained swordsmen. Why take on someone in the way he has trained his whole life to fight?

@mattdvdb Actually Ninja was samurai. the ninja was a samurai that was used by the diamyo to spy on his enemy. The ninja was more of a spy then a assassin, that is the Hollywood ninja. Why do you think they had weapons to stop an attack or a pursuit? Well for them to get the information back to the diamyo he could not risk a fight and die then how can he get the information back? The weapons of the ninja was used to get out of harms way as fast as possible.
@capitaindouleur. ninja and samurai arent exactly the same thing. yes they were sent by diamyo to do things but the were more like mercenaries who didnt have identities unlike the samurai who would do such things that a ninja would because there was an honor in being a samurai so the didnt want to ruin there reputation.

@fightjapanrc i can see why you would put samurai for ideas for darth vader. but it actually did not come from samurai armor, it came from nazi propaganda and uniforms. the ss helmets and most of the german helmets had the curve at the bottom to stop bullets from going into people bodys idea was would bounce off the curved sides on to the ground or somwhere away from the soldier. and StormTroopers in starwars are hitlers henchman who would break into houses and so on and cause chaos and fear
also you didnt even put the main samurai weapon in this vid. the bow was the ancient samurai weapon and was the main weapon still swords were used in close combat if they had no choice. all the sword as a samurais main weapon is just Hollywood fantasy

@MonoxideChild1219 …Actually Ninja’s were Samurai and Samurai were ninja’s, Ninja’s main emphasis was intelligence, Japanese History also recalls that the Samurai’s of Iga and Koka was so distant from the fight they were able to emphasize different skill sets and they trained peasants for defense during times of conflict in order to protect ones lord and village using farm tools.
