That’s an amazing katana for a low cost, my question is if it is differentially tempered using a traditional claying method.
They are differentially tempered (the new ones)
All of the new Kawashimas are differentially tempered.
on swordsofmight it says the blade is 1095 carbon steel but other sites say its 1060….
We deal direct with the manufacturer and all of the new kawashimas are 1095.

In the swordsofmight site, it says this sword is Clay Tempered. Is that correct? The other Kawashima swords dont seem to have clay.

kawashima swords rock! I have never used a katana as good as these, and i dont know if I ever will find any that are better.
Do you have to worry about its tsuka ito losing its white color?
