Is it legal to wear a samurai sword in public?

If someone wanted to do it, would it be "OK" to wear a visible samurai sword out in public?

Clearly visible. Two of them like the traditional samurai. One large one and a smaller one.

Not dressed up like a samurai though, that would look silly.

I would think that the person had a screw loose. I would also call the police who would probably lock up the person.

A samurai sword is not deadly weapon? It could slice your head off no problem (shakes head)

Depends on the state. In NY, you are allowed to carry any bladed weapon (other than a weapon defined as a deadly weapon, which a samurai sword is not) as long as you are not carrying it with the intent to use unlawfully against another.

No , its illegal to have possession of a weapon in public without a license.

The answer to that is different all over the world. Since this is a worldwide site and you didn’t mention where you live, I’m going to assume it’s Australia and answer for here.

Wearing two swords in public would be a police magnet. Since it’s ilegal to carry a knife without a clear reason (such as fishing, but definitely not self defense), a sword would be considered a knife. I sometimes have to carry mine to training but I make sure they are covered up and out of view. If you carry them openly, you break the law by being intimidating to people.

I want to know why anyone would even want to. Is it to show off? People who are so insecure they have to stand out to feel good about themselves most certainly shouldn’t have swords.
